| Scientists appeal for suspension on 5G roll-out |

Over 180 scientists and doctors from around the world recently sent a document to the European Union appealing for the suspension of new 5G technology on the grounds of potentially serious health effects to humans and all living things. The appeal calls for a moratorium on the roll-out of 5G for telecommunication 'until potential hazards for human health and the environment have been fully investigated by scientists independent from industry.' And states that, due to 5G technology only being effective over a short distance, more new antennas will be required, meaning '5G will substantially increase exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) on top of the 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, etc. for telecommunications already in place. RF-EMF has been proven to be harmful for humans and the environment.' This appeal follows an earlier appeal in 2015 in which over 230 scientists from more than 40 countries expressed their serious concerns over recommended RF safety levels. The document details a series of recommendations to protect public health from 5G and wireless technology and a deadline of October 31 has been given for a public response.
